My missions :

During this project i made every thing from scratch . 
The objective for me was to developed my skills using blueprint on UE5. 
I had to be methodical to keep everything on track and finish this game. 

First I wrote and developed my design documents, trying to keep the game concept simple. Then I started to develop my game bit by bit.

  • I started with my player and developed a blueprint that allowed him to move at different speeds and interact with the elements in the setting.  During this stage I tried to finish what I'd started first before moving on to something else.

  • My player had to collect wood to feed the fire, so I then developed a blue print for the trees. The idea was to be able to give my tree life points to cut it down. 

  • I then developed a blue print to manage my fire according to the weather. The more time passes, the more the light emitted by my fire diminishes. It increases as soon as my player adds wood. The fire was supposed to be an element that would prevent the monster from catching the player as long as he was in the light of the fire.

  • It was time to develop my AI using a behaviour tree and a blackboard which, thanks to several conditions, allowed me to manage my AI's reactions in real time.

  • The UI had to be created so that the player had information about the number of woods he had and the level of intensity of the fire. Thanks to a number of bindings, I was able to retrieve and transmit this information to the player.


During these different stages I started to work on my level design to try and offer a rich and interesting path for my player.
It was at this point that I integrated the various elements of my level, including lights, materials and assets, to make my level enjoyable.

After numerous tests and hours of perseverance I finally added the rest of my animations and integrated a number of sounds to give the player more feedback. 

I'm currently in the process of finalising this project.

In a nutshell 

  • I created all the content.

  • I worked on UE5.

  • I used the Blueprint system.

  • I developed an IA for the monster and his behaviour.
